Excerpts on Ready For Impact

“Without her, this never would have been accomplished.””
“He’s like a pit bull who doesn’t let go until the task is completed.”

A Personal Perspective

Individuals with the tenacity to achieve consistent, high-quality results will always stand out against the backdrop of current cultural confusion. Those able to live a balanced life with high impact are a rare commodity. In light of most of our efforts to simply navigate contemporary life, we might assume that such extremely effective individuals must have been born with a rare gene. There seems to be no other explanation for someone who sustains a consistent level of impact fueled by passion.

What separates these people from the masses who struggle through the morass of daily life? Why do only a small minority live lives of such high impact, regardless of the context? What do a small percentage of individuals perceive on their life journeys that eludes the rest of the population?

These questions led us to seek answers. We consider ourselves curious observers who labor in diverse fields, yet discovered a commonality in the questions and concerns we share. In our case, a Fortune 500 company and a mainline Protestant denomination occupy seemingly opposite points on the vocational continuum. Issues such as profit margins, globalization, technological advances and downsizing versus Christian education, missions, worship styles, and sustainable growth for survival, have traditionally been diametrically opposed. While the organizational structures and missions of our employment differed dramatically, on closer scrutiny undeniable similarities began to surface in the people of impact who sustained forward motion.
